GREETING IN JESUS CHRIST GREAT NAME!
First of all, before I bare my heart and soul with you in a transparent manner, I want to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for being my faithful, loving and caring Master and Friend. I also want to thank those in the global community of believers who have stood by side in the battle of a lifetime. Thank you so very, very much!
A REVIEW OF THE LAST DECADE
As most of you are aware, I, James (Jim) W. Goll, have been through a long and arduous journey in the last decade battling non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer. I have had three distinct battles with this beast eventually resulting in doing an intense medical treatment including the use of a radioactive isotope. The Good News is that well over a year ago I was declared clean and free of all cancer in my body. A shout of praise resounded across the body of Christ, as this was a collective victory for us all! Click here for the report. Every form of therapy has been used over the years including nutrition, detoxing, traditional medicines, radiation, passive immune therapy and others. Of course, trusting in Jesus, prayer, reading of scripture, soaking in worship and belief in the operation of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit today always have taken first priority.
It is also true that the wear and tear emotionally has been complex on my entire family, fighting my own battle with cancer, then coupled with the losing of my dear wife, Michal Ann, to cancer 2 ½ years ago. On top of that, we were hit financially with great loss of income to our ministry, Encounters Network, compounding even more the levels of change and transition I had to face. Our product sales plummeted and our yearly income via giving was lessened by 70%. Others of you have faced similar situations. But we are victors and not victims; we are more than conquers through Christ Jesus our Lord! Last year, I wrote and article describing some of these experiences and what I have learned through then. REQUIRED ADJUSTMENTS AND CHANGES
As a result, with the help of the Board of Directors of EN, we sold all our ministry property, down sized the ministry staff by 2/3, moved to a much smaller 900 square foot rented offices and decreased some of the services offered. We have done every thing the Lord has revealed to us and have maintained accountability and moral integrity. While we have down sized, we have still been enabled to carry on an active worldwide reaching ministry encompassing Encounters Network • Prayer Storm • Compassion Acts. Praise the Lord as thousands of lives continue to be touched with the love, power and presence of the Holy Spirit today through our various outreaches with your help!
On the personal front, not all these medical and alternative treatments were paid for my Health Insurance provider; I had the loss of an entire income stream to my family in the loss of Michal Ann, add other complex situations and it resulted in over $250,000 of personal debt. I have had great financial advisers, did debt consolidation and made many personal changes and considering even more measures at this time. I still have not recovered from the financial consequences personally or ministerially at this time. Progress is occurring slowly but it is happening.
A CURRENT UPDATE
I continue to have routine 6 month CT and at times PET scans done by our local providers. Just two weeks ago, I was given more Good News by my oncologist, that my recent CT scan remain clear with no trace of any growths, that my blood work was great, my lymph system was clean and free of any cancer cells. I sighed another sigh of great relief and offered a “thank offering” in the doctor’s office to the Great Physician.
I regularly receive input from the best spirit filled Christian counselors who have helped walk me through the grief process and teaching me new skill sets and help in bringing healing to areas of trauma in my life. I thank the Lord for the body of Christ everyday!
My four kids have been amazing and I am so grateful for their love and support. Two are married now and all four love the Lord with all their heart and soul and all are engaged in various forms of ministry to this day. Thank you Justin and Danielle, GraceAnn, Tyler, Rachel and Mckendree. You make my heart proud! Keep moving forward carrying the generational torch for Jesus Christ sake!
At times, I still break down, feeling overwhelmed at such great loss – but I continue to be resolute and my convictions are in tack. I have always been a boundaried man and I will remain so rest of the days of my life. God is the source of my comfort and healing and I look to Him and His Word everyday! I continue to travel the globe releasing the fragrance of Christ and have picked back up my international mandate.
WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS?
This past March, when ministering at the Women on the Frontlines Extreme Conference in Arizona, Heidi Baker remarked that my “color looked good”. But then in the anointing she peered into my eyes and continued to state, “But your immune system is depleted. You need to go the “Wellness Center” in Germany where Rolland was helped.” Others had suggested something similar.
For months, I had been praying into this very issue. I knew at that moment, this was the word of the Lord for me. I have never fully recovered my energy levels and I still have a good deal of detoxing of radiation and toxins in my body as a result of the various treatments I have undergone over the years. There has been a timing to this issue though, and now it the time.
So with others help, I contacted the His Place, a restful, idyllic wellness center in a quaint village in Germany and they have agreed to open up a room for me for two weeks of evaluation in July. This might just be the first phase of this journey of recovery, as they will follow up my time with recommendations, which might include a return trip for a longer period of therapy. I am committed to complete restoration, as I want live a full and fruitful life. (You can visit www.community-without-walls.com for more information on where I will be going.) Speaking frankly, I have not felt up to par for so long – I just want to get and stay well. So I need His and your help to accomplish this goal!
Cost? Yes. I need to raise several thousand dollars to cover airfare and various expenses while there etc. I have to include in this budget income to EN to make up for the cancellations of meetings so I can take these two to three weeks out and the corresponding loss of product sales on the road, all which pay our EN•PS•CA staff and fund our global ministry outreaches.
